MC1R is a receptor for α-MSH, widely expressed on melanocytes. Activation of MC1R mediates Gαs downstream signaling, regulating melanin production, skin pigmentation and photoprotection. MC1R is an important target for skin disease and melanoma drug discovery. Our MC1R stable cell lines are validated for CRE-Luc reporter assays to support your drug discovery programs.
