CB1

CB1 (Cannabinoid Receptor Type 1) is a Protein Coding gene encoding a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) and a core member of the endocannabinoid system, widely expressed in the CNS and peripheral tissues. It binds endogenous and exogenous cannabinoids, coupling to Gi to reduce cAMP and regulate neurotransmitter release, energy metabolism and pain perception; its overactivation is associated with neuropsychiatric and metabolic disorders and chronic pain. Our CB1 stable cell lines have been validated in cAMP assays to support your drug discovery programs.
