GRM4 (mGlu4) is an inhibitory class C GPCR expressed in the central nervous system. Activation of GRM4 couples to Gi/o, suppressing adenylate cyclase and reducing intracellular cAMP, and triggers the PI3K/Akt anti-apoptotic pathway. It regulates neurotransmitter release, motor coordination and synaptic plasticity, and its dysfunction links to Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia and neuropathic pain. Our GRM4 stable cell lines are validated for cAMP assays to support your drug discovery programs.
